William Killebrew was the son of Buckner and Mary (Whitfield) Killebrew. William was born abt 1786 in Edgecombe Co., NC and died 27 Sep 1860 in Panola Co., MS.

William married 1st Nancy Ann Johnson in Dec. 1812 in Montgomery Co., TN. Nancy died April 1816 at 22 years of age and buried in the Johnson Family Cemetery, Montgomery Co., TN ["Cemetery Records of Montgomery Co., TN" Vol. II, Compiled by Darnell, Jones, Alley, & Hogan; printed January 1975.]

William married 2nd Mary Jane Barry on 21 Apr 1817 in Christian Co., KY. Mary Jane was the daughter of Daniel Barry and Rosanna Toland. Mary Jane was born 17 Jul 1796 in Antrim, Ireland and died Jan 1881 in Panola Co., MS. [Sketches of the Barry and Killebrew families written by Mary Jane found in the TN State Library and Archives, Nashville, TN - poor copy; Obituary of Mary Jane dated January 1881 in Panola Co., MS - Sorry I don't have the name of the newspaper.]

William and Mary Jane's children: Daniel Barry Killebrew; William Buckner Killebrew; Henry Barry Killebrew; Nancy "Nannie" Killebrew b. 1 Aug 1824 married Isaac Coles Armistead [sorry this is all I have on Nannie]; James Killebrew; infant Killebrew; Mary Jane Killebrew; and Eliza Ellen Killebrew.
