Clater Parker Killebrew of Tarboro, 80 died Monday June 6, 2005.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Carlisle Funeral Home with the Rev. Caswell Shaw and the Rev. Renee Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the McKendree Methodist Churchyard.

Mr. Killebrew was born in Edgecombe County to the late Mack and Vera Edmondson Killebrew. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Killebrew.

Clater was a charter member of the West Edgecombe Ruritan Club, a retired merchant, farmer and insurance agent. He served on the Edgecombe County planning board for 20 years. He was a member of the Farm Service Agency Committee, an active member of McKendree Methodist Church and a strong lifetime Duke fan.

Clater is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mille B. Killebrew; sons, Allen Killebrew and wife Cindy of Tarboro; C.P. Killebrew Jr. of Tarboro; Randy Killebrew and wife Shelley of Tarboro; grandchildren Kristal Killebrew, Meg Killebrew and Brad Killebrew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McKendree Methodist Church, c/o Arlene Bunch, 1898 Nobles Mill Pond Road, Rocky Mount NC 27801.

The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home from 7-8:30 p.m. today.
