Ed Killebrew in Mississippi

Found this information in a 1929 Journal kept by my Aunt Marjorie Barrett Dodd who lived and died in Atalla County Ms. Has information about an Ed Killebrew, his children, and their marriages.


Marjorie Francis Barrett journal entries of 1929, as transcribed from her journal by Charles R Barrett on Oct 16, 2008.

Nancy Caradine Barrett married Ed Killebrew.
Their children, Raphord, Ida, MollieB, and Eddie.

Rahpord married Timmie Armstrong, now lives near Moorhead Ms. They had a
Number of children, Barney Barrett (be by- darling) and Ruth Thomas.

Ida married Jim Foster, lives near Newport. Foster died and Ida later went to
Texas. They has some children, but do not know their names.

MollieB married Sam? Foster and had a large family, lived near Sebastafval in
Scott Co.

Eddie Married a Rutledge. They had several children and live in Texas, 30-40
Miles from Texarkana.

Mary Frances Barrett married C(?) L Degrimma(?) had one child, Lysander lived in Louisiana

Sarah Frances Barrett married Andy Killebrew. They had two boys to be grown, Barney
Horace and Lysander
After Andy’s death, Sarah married Richard Rutledge. They had several children, Richard, the oldest. They lived near Sebastafval.

Mary Francis Elizabeth Lecroy was the daughter of born in Holmes co. October 31, 1865 to Robert Mcduff Lecroy and Hattice (?) Their children were George, William, Mack and Ben.
Robert Mcduff Lecroy was a native of Tn and had a big connection there. His wife was borne and raised in Holmes Co.

Barney Horace Barrett was born in Neshoba Co. near Philadelphia on April 13, 1858. William Barrett, his brother died in 1865 at 9yrs.

Ginerva Barrett married Calvin Deeveuse (?). Their children were Aaron, Addie, Elbert, Jim, Tilda, Elizabeth, Dee, Sissy.

       Aaron married Litha Everette, one child named Barney, other names unknown.

       Elbert married a Miss Rutledge


       Jim married a Miss Gibson

       Matilda married Allen Clark

       Elizabeth married John Johnson

       Dee lives with father

       Sissy died when about grown

Barney was the son of Perry Andrew Lysander Barrett and Margery Ann Bond Barrett
This couple was married about 1850 in Alabama and came to Mississippi and settled in Neshoba Co. near Philadelphia where Lysander Barrett was born about 1828 or 1830.

Perryandrew Lysander was the son of Arthur Barrett and Marry Barrett (nee Caradine). Their children are , boys – Carodine, Ruben, Bird, Art, Masa, Bill, Tippe, Carrol.
Girls- Elizabeth, Ann, MaryAnn, Lee Ann, Nora Ann, Sarah Ann, (known as Dolly).

Margery Ann Bond was the daughter of Barney and Nancy Bond of Alabama. Sons- Sidney, Benjamin, and James
Daughters- Sarah, and Marjory (great aunts of Marjorie Barrett)

Barney Barrett, William Barrett, Generva, Jane, Nancy, Caroline, Mary Francis, Sarahfrancie, were sons and daughters of Perry Andrew Lysander Barrett and Margery Ann Bond Barrett.

Barney Horace Barrett and Mary Francis Elizabeth Lecroy were Married in Yazoo County.

Their children were:
       Raphord Bell
       John Archie
       Claude Prewett
       Marjorie Francis
       Lessie Annie
       Alice Elizabeth
       Cooper Andrew
       Jessie Beatrice
       Delma Campbell
       Twins Ethel(boy) and Estelle(girl)
       Vernon Guy
       Voyne Ray
