SHREVEPORT, LA - Heaven became a more fun and lively place, as Ann Wolf was welcomed home after losing her all-too-short battle with colon cancer on September 29, 2009. A Memorial Service celebrating Ann's life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 3, 2009, in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home. The family will be receiving guests for visitation from 6-8 pm on Friday, October 2, 2009, at Osborn Funeral Home.
Ann was a proud native Texan, born on June 18, 1945, in Galveston, TX, to Clifford and Pat Killebrew. She was married to Dr. Robert Wolf, the love of her life, for 41 years, and they moved to Shreveport in 1977. Ann was blessed with a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Suzy Wolf, of Dallas, TX, and a beautiful granddaughter, Madison Olivia Wolf. She is also survived by her sister, Harriett Mawby, of Little Elm, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ever the passionate advocate and voice for children, Ann's dedication knew no boundaries. Whether it was volunteering and interacting with Fairfield Elementary School students, serving as Carnival Chairman at Agnew Town and Country Day School, or being the Parent Chairman of the Caddo Middle Magnet Mardi Gras and Student Council, Ann's face always beamed with joy when she worked with students.
Her devoted and enthusiastic belief in the value of education also extended to serving in nearly every executive capacity in the Caddo District PTA. She served as Chairman of the District PTA Scholarship Committee and devoted much energy to this endeavor. As a result of her lifetime of service and commitment to helping others, Ann was awarded Honorary Life Membership with the Caddo District PTA, Louisiana PTA, and National PTA.
Ann's joyous and upbeat attitude, combined with her wonderful sense of humor always inspired and encouraged everyone around her. In addition to all of her fervent service, Ann had a passion for cruising and scrapbooking, and often combined her many passions by going on scrapbooking cruises with her family. Ann excelled in every project she started, and her scrapbooks were no different - her creative and elaborate scrapbook pages won numerous awards.
Whether it was meeting with the governor or eating dinner with a ship's captain, Ann's joy for life was limitless. Although Ann will be deeply missed, her love, wit, wisdom, humor, enthusiasm, and ever-present smile will be with us forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that contributions be made in her honor to the Ann Wolf Scholarship, c/o Caddo District PTA, 8305 Forest Cove Dr., Shreveport, LA 71107, or for contributions to be made to the charity of donor's choice. OSBORNFUNERALHOME.NET
