I must say how pleased I was to get such a fast response.

Miles H. Husbands has been sort of a thorn in my side for years. Do you have any idea where he was in 1860? He was not listed in the census with Melissa.

No, I knew nothing of Louisa until I read your message. I would certainly love a copy of the letter you mention. I had always thought that Miles was dead by 1860 since he wasn't in the census or had abandoned Melissa.

Did Melissa ever remarry? Do you have any information on Jane, her daughter with Miles? I can go back a couple of generations on Miles. I have been stuck in the same place since 1978.

You mention that Louisa received support from Frank's first son, her first cousin. Wouldn't he have been her half brother?

I am so full of questions that I am almost ashamed of myself. Where did Melissa live in 1870? Do you know when or where she died.
