Can you tell me why you believe William died in the civil war?
I see a William Killip
in the 1910 census
William Killip age 78 (that would give him a birth date of
about 1832)
living in Cuyahogo Co. Cleveland, Ohio
wife: Louisa S. age 66 born in Ohio
William Junior age 35 born in Ohio
George O. age 35 born in Ohio (I suspect these are twins)
Thomas G. age 26 born in Ohio

I looked at the 1880 census and here they are again

William Killip age 47 born Isle of Mann father born in Wales, mother born in Wales
wife: Louisa age 35 born in Ohio father born in Wales mother born in New York
William age 5 born in Ohio
George age 5 born in Ohio

The civil war info stated William Killip enlisted as Private on 15 Sept 1861 at age 29
(note: thats the right age)
mustered oout on 15 July 11864 at Camp Cleveland Ohio

I noted there was a request for his pension, filed by
his wife Louisa and then there is an Ella L. Klein,
helpless child (next friend) listed. I dont know what that means, you'd have to order his pension records, maybe they would resolve that problem.

Vallejo, Ca.
