Thomas C. Killip (b. 1826)

Hi Killips -

I wanted to share my Killip background and see if there any interesting connections to be made. Further, my mom is sending me some letters that have been in the family since the mid-19th c. and I believe travelled across from IoM - I'll be happy to post scanned copies if anyone is interested.

When I was growing up (I'm 43 now) my great-grandmother Arletta Eliza Dolson (Hughson) lived with us. Her father was James Hughson (1863-1928) and her mother was Fanny Helen Killip (1866-1942), who was born and raised in PA, USA.

Fanny's father (according to census records) was Thomas C. Killip (b 1826, Douglas, IoM) and her mother was Sarah D (b 1837) - would love to learn her maiden name or more info. It was Thomas who emigrated from IoM to the USA.

Thomas' father was I believe James Cross Killip (b Bradden Douglas, 1797-1881 in Onchan) and his mother Ann Christian (1796-1887).

James' father was I believe William Killip (1751-1813), who evidently died in Japan of all things - curious to know what was behind that outcome.

Any and all information folks can share would be welcome, and I'm happy to share what I have!

Best wishes -

Rob Reuss
