Killip Family, IOM to USA 1870+?

In 1860, Thomas Killip 19 yrs. old, born in the I.O.M. was farming in Warren County, Illinois. By 1870 he had married Sarah ___ and they had 2 chidren, Ellen 1867 and James 1870.
About 1870+ Boyer Killip, born I.O.M. Apr 1 1847 emigrated to USA and by 1880 was farming in Warren County Illinois. In 1874 he married Isabella Walkington (born in Castetown, I.O.M.) in Warren County, and they had 7 children. The fact that Boyer came to the same township in the same county as Thomas suggests a relationship, and a communication which brought Boyer to USA.
I am anxious to find the place of birth of Boyer Killip, and would prefer to do it without the help of the Registrar General. Anyone with any clues?
Martin Diestler, Blandinsville Illinois, USA.
