Hi Corinne. it's nice to hear from you. where abouts in america are you, just out of interest? i must admit that it is nice to see so many people taking an interest in their name and its origins. when at school i found it quite good that i was the only person in the school with that name. the origins of the name as far as i see are, from what i understand, possibly scottish (Mc / Mac Philip) which has somehow become bastardised (excuse the use of the word) to Killip. i had absolutley no idea there were so many of us. if, as you suggest, the name originate from the IOM and if i am correct, some of my relatives come from there also, i suppose there is the faint chance that there could be distant relatives writing to each other! is this a frightening thought or what!!

anyway, nice to hear from you. please reply again.
Ian.
