So many questions!

We all wonder... about that girl I almost .... maybe its in the Genes!

The William in Liverpool in 1881 is my GG Grandfather - the builder and Robert's father - born in 1817 in Knocksharry, German. William (father of Robert)'s ancestors are from German and Marown going back to a Ewan Killip born in Ballaugh in 1704 - proven through Parish records and Wills through years of research by David's father Roy and Roy's brother Alan - both still living in IOM. It is possible to trace the probable line back another 100 years, but Ewan's father has not been proved absolutely.

I have only started looking at the Malew Killips since your posting and hence have little information. Next time I am in the Manx Museum I will look through the Malew records and the Index of Wills to see if anything new is available. I suspect that we can link the Castletown Killip to Marown or German fairly quickly - assuming the link is around 1800.

Let me know your dates etc for Southport and I will try to get over - perhaps combine a trip with a visit to the Liverpool archives.

Ian
