Y-DNA Test----Kilman/Killman/Kilmon/Killmon/Kelmon

I hope to encourage males with the foregoing surnames to get their y-dna tested. I think a lot could be learned from doing so. My mother was a Kilman with roots to 1665 Maryland and I was very close to my Kilman Grandparents, which explains my Kilman interest.

Prices range from $99 to about $270, depending on the number of markers tested. I am giving the information for Family tree DNA (FTDNA) because it is the largest and I would expect more people to select it as time goes by, especially related lines in Europe/Scotland etc. The price is more unless one joins the Killman of some other group before ordering the test.

I just found two Kilman cousins that are getting tested.

The link to the Killman Group is as follows:

https://www.familytreedna.com/surname_join.aspx?code=Z96842&special=true

Use that link to join the Killman group ( I could not find a Kilman/Kelman/ or Killmon group, but I think genetically they could be the closely related..)

At the bottom of the page it has “type of test” I hope you will pick Y-DNA67 male 67 marker paternal test $267, but any Y-DNA test would be a good start.

Contact me if you have questions.

Jack Harris
