Hi, Kathleen!

You wrote me a letter in May 2001 asking if I knew anything about your Killmans, and I wasn't able to help you. But I'd like to know if you've gotten further?

You showed that the family was in Monroe Co., KY in 1870 (and even though you said you're not 100% sure it's your Killmans, I don't think you get get much more sure - how many Edney Killmans were born ca. 1855/1856 :-) Have you found the family in the 1850 or 1860 census?

There are two KILLMAN families in Monroe Co., KY in 1850 - a young couple - Calvin and Martha KILLMAN, aged 21 and 19, respectively, and then the family of Stephen (age 60) and Margaret (age 55) and their three children Jinsey, Harriet and Frances.

I believe that this Stephen is the son of James and Jinsey (HOPPER) KILLMAN. And he could be the father of Calvin, who's next door, and could also be the father of your Henry - but hard to tell at this point.

I'd love to know if you've learned anything!
