I have several items in my possession relating to Alfred Joyce Kilmer.
I have a picture of an Oak Tree. Written on the back is the following, "Oak Tree at Rutgers University in New Jersey, that inspired Joycd Kilmer to write "Trees".
Also included in the information is the following, "his great- grandmother was Mary Evarts, daughter of Captain Nathaniel Evarts, who married Charles Kilmer of Taconic, Ct. His great-grandmother,Mary, was a sister of Esther Evarts Bradley, our great-grandmother from Salisbury, Ct.

I also have a copy of the program of the 75th Anniversary of the Birth of Joyce Kilmer. This ceremony was held on December 6, 1961 at Roosevelt Jr. High School, 83 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ. In attendance as Honored Guests were Mr & Mrs Kenton Kilmer, sister Michael Kilmer,Christopher Kilmer, grandchildren. The sponsor of this ceremony was the Joyce Kilmer Post #25,The American Legion.

I have a picture of the 1st Evarts Family Reunion dated 1915, taken in front of my grandfather's home in Lakeville, Ct. Included in the picture is Captain George Kilmer & wife, identified as grandparents of Joyce Kilmer.
