Hi, Keith.

I apologize if I misled you, but I am not descended from Maggie Saturday Kinard Turner. My grandmother Turner died in 1940, and Granddaddy Bill married Maggie sometime in the spring of 1943, I believe, when he was 70 and she was about 50. I hope to know the date for sure after a research trip to Moultrie in early December. From what my one surviving Turner aunt tells me, Maggie was a very kind person who was very good for my grandfather. It was a shock to the family when she died. I have one photograph of her taken at a Turner family reunion that took place probably in the spring of 1946. If you would like a copy, I will try to scan it and e-mail it to you.

According to the Georgia Death Index, Maggie died 22 April 1947. I know that she died suddenly at the home she and my grandfather shared, out in the country about 8 miles south of Moultrie at a settlement called Murphy. I don't know where she is buried, but as far as I know it was not in the cemetery at Murphy where my grandparents and several aunts and uncles are buried.

Also according to the Georgia Death Index, S. S. Kinard died 02 April 1931 in Colquitt County.

My grandfather died 28 April 1951, at home in Colquitt County.

I hope these dates are helpful for you.

Thank you very much for the outline of Silas Kinard's ancestry. My branch of the Turners stopped for a few years in South Carolina very early in the 1800s on their way south from Maryland to Georgia.

Best,
Lowell
