Here's what I have on Daniel Kinard, Jr.:
Daniel b. 10 June 1799 in Barnwell District, SC
d. 14 July 1871 in Irwin Co, GA and buried in Bethlehem Cemetery west of Lennox, Cook Co, GA
m. 10 Feb 1818 in Montgomery Co, GA
Alethia "Lethy" Baker, b. 13 May 1799 in GA
d. 16 Oct 1879 in Irwin Co, GA
They had 10 children, and I have their data.
Info of above from "PIONEERS OF WIREGRASS GEORGIA", Vol. I, page 156, and Vol. II, page 309, by the Huxford Genealogical Society of Homerville, GA.The IGI (International Geographic Index) of Morman Church has Daniel, Jr. born 10-Jun-1798.
The following is my note on Daniel, Jr. from my Kinard genealogy database:
[NOTE: Daniel KINARD, Jr. migrated with his parents from Barnwell District in South Carolina to Montgomery County, Georgia, where he married Alethia "Lethy" BAKER.
For a few years after their marriage, they lived in Montgomery County, but about 1822-23, they moved to the new county of Irwin and settled on a tract of land on Little River, known in more recent years as "Sodom" in present day Berrien County.
He was a member of Midway Primitive Baptist Church in old Irwin County, and was a delegate from Midway Primitive to the Suwannee River Association in 1840.
He served as a Private in Capt. Hamilton W. Sharpe's volunteer company of Lowndes County militia in 1836.He served as 2nd Lieutenant in the Lowndes County militia, 776th District, 1834-1839.
During the Indian War of 1836, a Fort was made of bales of cotton at his place, as a means of protection against marauding Indian bands. This place was on the old Union Road and was later known as the "Buck" Easters place.
Word is related by descendants that it was in the KINARD home that Mrs. Mariah BAKER, wife of Jeremiah BAKER, Jr. (and mother of Lethy), made bullets from a bullet-mold, and these bullets were taken by Daniel's wife, "Lethy", on horseback across Little River to her husband and other soldiers as they were scouting and chasing Indian bands.
The Daniel KINARD homeplace was on Land Lot 58, 9th District of Berrien (now known as Cook) County.A dowry out of this land was granted the widow at the February term, 1873, of Berrien Superior Court. The son, James D. KINARD, was the administrator of the estate.
