Dear Jeri, family lore has it that I am descended from John Kinard via his son Martin and Martin's daughter Catherine. My Martin eventually settled in Floyd County, Georgia and died there. His daughter Catherine married George W. Varner. They settled and died in Sumter County, Georgia. I have a trip to the South Carolina Archives in Columbia on my agenda to try to document the connection to John. In the meantime, have you anything that might reinforce our family lore and enhance my search in Columbia? Thanks, Lou
