The Kinard and Kinerd families of SC are cousins to the Kinards and Keinard (Keinart, Keinadt) families of PA, who are related to the Keinadt, Koiner, Coiner, Coyner, Kyner, Kiner families of PA and VA. They all come from the same section of So. Germany, Winterlingen, Onstmettingen, Tailfingen, Mahringen, and lots of other communities which end in "gen". We may have it in our German lineage in our list files at Yahoo. Come join KeinadtFamily@Yahoogroups.com and we'll work on it.

Basically, Michael Keinadt (Keinath now in Germany) md. Anna Marie Koch, he was born about 1565, his son Jacob born 1597, also married another Anna Marie Koch ~ their son, Claudius md. Kathryn Fuess in Onstmettingen, and from that time the family seems to scatter in that area of Germany. Some are still there. We have several German family members on our list. Both Michael I and Jacob were Burgermeisters of Winterlingen for life.

Michael Keinadt and some family members arrived in PA in 1747, a cousin, Jacob Keinadt, arrived in 1752 in PA. They were from Onstmettingen and Mahringen. Other single Keinadts from Winterlingen also arrived about this time in PA, but we have not been able to connect them to the family.
The Keinadts fround in SC arrived there in two ships, also before 1750. There is no doubt they are related. Please feel free to join the list or e-mail me.
Norma
