KINARD Cousins in Newberry co., SC

Recently I was able to track down my grandmother's first cousin.

Elizabeth "Betty" Lee KINARD was my grandmother, and her first cousin through her father (Vaudine "James" C. KINARD) was John Anderson KINARD. Elizabeth uncle was Hubert Alton KINARD. Hubert A. KINARD's children are: John Anderson KINARD and Dola Ann KINARD.

Hubert A. and James C. KINARD's parents were John "Andrew" KINARD and Emma "Minnie" Kathrine MILLER.
Minnie MILLER's father was A.H. MILLER. A. H. MILLER gave 4ac to build the Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Prosperity S.C. The church was built in Feb. 22, 1880. Both of her parents are buried there.

Hubert A. and John Anderson KINARD took a genealogy trip back to Newberry, SC. Hubert A. KINARD, b. 11 Mar 1900 SC, d. 8 Jan 1962, left a great scrapbook. His son, John A. KINARD owns it now. I have been told that Hubert's father and grandfather were born in the same house. So they are very certain of their lineage.

My mother made a mistake in her research in the 1970's while she was going through census on microfishe. My mother, Norma Lee (MILES) POTTER, had recorded that John "Andrew" KINARD's father was David Belton KINARD. However, we have recently discovered this to be inaccurate. I began my research at David B. KINARD, unfortunately.

Now I've been told by John Anderson KINARD, that Hubert knew his father to be John "Andrew" KINARD and his grandfather to be Martin "Luther" KINARD, Jr.

John "Andrew" KINARD's father was Martin "Luther" KINARD, Jr. (CSA) b. 19 Dec 1840 d. 29 Dec 1904 m. Sophia HARTMAN. b. 15 Oct 1840, d. 27 Nov 1903. I was able to find this KINARD family on the 1880 census in Cannons, Newberry co., SC.

Martin "Luther" KINARD's father was Martin Luther KINARD, Sr. b. abt 1801 d. btwn 1860-1870 m. Mary Margaret SLIGH. They were married about 1821 in Newberry, SC.

I believe that Martin Luther Sr., was son of George KINARD... I don't know if it is George W. KINARD? Can you assist me?

I am in search of birth and death certificates, if possible, to determine that this is correct. Has anyone else found this in their research?

Thank you for any help you can render?
