I may stir up things today, but here goes. I was looking over some 2008 queries by Pauline Priest and Glenna Kinard. The info was very enlightening. I have had this info on John Henry Kinard & wife, Christina Long for several years and have been adding info as I found it. My wife is the Kinard line I have been researching. I am a Whaley, Whalley, Waley depending back in the 1700"s how they sounded it out and wrote the name down. I have Whaley lines that I have been researching in NC. , SC., Ga., Fla.
I have found Kinards in the same states. My wife is great at finding little bits of info & history on the internet and I add them where it is appropriate. Enough of talking now, let me add some info that may be of interest to you all. My wife so far is not connected to the German ancestry as we thought she might be. She is of the Daniel Kinard , Sr. ancestry that goes back to the Newberry/Barnwell Co.,SC., then moved to Montgomery Co., Ga. What I am putting here is the German line, In Germany it was spelled Keinat, but in Dutch Forks, Newberry Co, SC. it was spelled Kinard. :
1. Johannes Keinat/Kinard b. Winterlingen, Germany
+wife Lucia Koch b. Winterlingen, Germany
2. Michael Keinat/Kinard b. 10-31-1697 Winterlingen, Germany d. 1-26- 1749 or 1750
+wife Anna Maria Letsche b.6-9-1694 Undingen, Germany
3. Johannes [John Henry] Keinat/Kinard Sr.
b. 7-9-1726 Undingen, Germany
d. 1787 Newberry Co., SC.
+wife 1--Marie Sophia/Mary Lagronne
b. 1727 Schonau, Germany
+wife 2--Margaret Harwood
4. John Henry Kinard, Jr. b. 1753 Newberry Co., SC. d. 8-5-1800 Newberry Co., SC.
+Elizabeth Stockman b. 1755 Newberry Co.,SC. d. 6-22-1825
5. John Henry Kinard b. 1-1-1790 Newberry Co., SC. d. 3-15-1863 Jasper Co., Ga.
+Christina Long b.1-8-1791 Crims Ck.,SC. d. 12-20-1874 Spalding Co., Ga.
I have in my file on #4 with 12 children and now 2 sons with the name of John, that usually happens if one dies before the other is born. Glenda, if you have a listing of children of John Henry to compare, I would appreciate the help.
