Bernie--

What manuscript? You sure have made me curious!

You can get the basic skinny on Henry Clay Kindell's family at <r_moorman@yahoo.com>.

I correspond with Henry Clay's descendant Bob Cook, 6310 Pennsylvania, Kansas City, Mo 64113 (no e-mail that I know of).

James Wilson Kindell was born in Hot Springs, Orange Co, Virginia 3 Oct 1816. By 1846 he was living in Randolph County, MO, having purchased land in Twp 52, range 13. He married first Caroline Adams in MO. She died; no living children. On 16 Sept 1846 he married Elizabeth Ann Smith, born 6 Sept 1826 in Madison County, VA, daughter of Augustine Smith (abt 1798 - 1876) and Frances Anderson (abt 1796 - <1860). They are both buried in Pleasant View Cemetery near Cairo, MO. James died 3 Oct 1916; Elizabeth died 7 Feb 1914.

You'll find the names of all their children on Rachel Moorman's home page. Elias and Henry Clay went to Kansas. Most of the Kansas bunch spell their name "Kendall." The rest stayed in Missouri. My ancestor is Julia Bell, 3rd from the youngest.

Tell me about the manuscript!

Judy Belle
