Major Earl R. Kindig, commanding officer of the 121st FA Bn, directing 155mm artillery fire on Japanese forces from a light observation aircraft flying south of Saidor, New Guinea, was declared missing-in-action 07Feb1944.

The wreck site was located in June, 1998, and Major Kindig's remains were subsequently recovered, identified by the Army's Central ID Laboratory at Hickam AFB, and interred at Arlington National Cemetery.

I'd very much like to make contact with anyone who knew or is any way related to Earl Kindig or other members of his family...
