Looking for Henry W. Kindig
Posted by: Jack Petty Date: July 25, 2000 at 19:39:58

I have been stuck at Henry W Kindig for over a year with absolutely no trace of him.
He was m to Margaret Ann Leonard 5-20-1866
in Maryland. (In or near Baltimore)
They had 14 children, one of which William Dunkle Kendig, was my Grandfather (Please note change of spelling). Henry served in
the Civil War, with Co C in Maryland.
I think his father may also be named Henry
Kindig. I have found his mother, Catherine,
in the census living with their daughter and her husband, in Baltimore. I also found her in Baltimore in the city directory running a boarding house in Baltimore.
Although the census indicates that most of his children and himself were born in Maryland, I cannot find a trace of him or his father in Maryland prior to 1870 census.
I have all 14 names of his children as well as who most of them married. (and some of their children). I will be happy to share what little I have if you have any connection to this family!
