I'm hoping to make contact with others who might also be descendants of LAVINA KINGERY. She was born, according to various census records, around 1793 in Virginia and she died in 1850 in Mason Twp., Lawrence County, Ohio. She was married to Daniel Nance, Jr. b. 1790 in Mecklenburg Co., VA. d. bef. 1840 in Lawrence Co., Ohio. They were married in 1812 in Kanawha, Cabell Co., VA (now W.VA.)

Their eldest known child was one of my great, great, great grandmothers. Her name was Delana Nance b. Oct. 27, 1814 in Buck Creek, Gallia Co., OH. (today this area is located in Lawrence Co., OH.) d. 1884 in Portersville, Lincoln Co., W.VA. b. in the Curry Cemetery in Portersville, Lincoln Co., W.VA. (located abt. 5 miles N.W. of Hamlin W.V.) She was married to Reason Vermillion Powell b. Jan. 19, 1811 in Arabia, Gallia Co., OH. (now Lawrence Co., OH.) d. 1881 in Portersville, Lincoln Co., W.VA. b. in the same cemetery as his wife. They were married on June 6, 1833 in Ironton, Mason Twp., Lawrence Co., OH.

Other children of Lavina Kingery and Daniel Nance, Jr., were Sarah Nance b. 1817 d. aft. 1870, wife of Aaron Burr Kingery; Jane Nance b. 1818 d. aft 1880, wife of William Joseph Stumbo; Rebecca Nance b. April 27, 1821 d. April 26, 1895, wife of Allen Wilson; Samuel Finley Vinton B. Nance b. 1824 husband of Polly Pettry and Ellen Jane Mayberry; John Nance b. 1827 d. aft. 1880, husband of Rachel A. Mowder; Bannister Nance b. 1831 d. aft. 1880, husband of Hannah Cornell and Elizabeth Nance b. abt. 1835, wife of Henry Mowder.

Any help on this line would be appreciated. I'd especially be interested to hear from anyone who has some information as to exactly who the parents of Lavina Kingery were. Thank you.
