I now have a copy of the original marriage certificate in script of Michael to Margaret, sent to me by Pam Moats from the Reformed church archives. Margaretís maiden name is very difficult to read. So I fear that her maiden name may not be exactly Willmayer as I stated in my worksheets. It seems to be that that is how the name got transcribed into the Donna Irish book on Pennsylvania marriages, where I found that. I am more inclined to believe it was Witmer now I don't want to lead anyone down the wrong path of no return by setting a name in stone.

I got through my local library microfilm for the Trinity church records where some of my branch went in Lancaster Co. After reading through thousands of these (unindexed) records in script I can see how a lot of "judgment calls" have to be made on the difficult to read German script.

Richard
