My husband grew up in Lawrence Co., Ohio. He is a descendant of Peter Kingery and Sarah through their son Elijah Franklin Kingery, and Elijah's son Moses Kingery, then through Moses' daughter Martha Kingery who married Jacob Petrie (Petrie). I would love to share information.
I did some research in Franklin Co and things got confusing. In the 1800 census, there were 10 adult male Kingerys - Peter Sr., his sons Peter and Jacob; Christian Kingery; Jacob Sr. and son Joseph; Jacob Jr.; John; Martin; Peter Jr. There were three adult Peters! What makes it even more confusing - at that time Jr. didn't mean the son of Sr. It meant he was the youngest male of that name in the area. I also found a court record referencing the death of another Jacob in 1789 from a fall from a horse at the home of Peter Kingery. So that would have made four Jacobs living in Franklin Co. in 1789. How did you figure out who was the father of "our" Peter (born 1770)?
