William Farnsworth -- Killed at Louisbourg?

My family history states that my fifth great-grandfather William Farnsworth (from Groton, Middlesex, Massachusetts) was killed at Louisbourg, Cape Breton in 1745. Is anyone aware of any records or lists that might confirm or disclaim this information?
