Kinghorns of Scotland

My Father's family are descended from a Thomas Kinghorn who married Margaret Wright in 1674 in Pencaitland E. Lothian. I have quite a bit about the family but still have gaps.
I know that the family moved to Leith where many of the men were heavily involved in ship building. I have in my possession a Photograph frame which is late 1800's, has Geo. Washington on the front and has photographs of my Great grandfather and grandmother in it. This would suggest to me and American connection but so far I have been unable to uncover it.

I would be interested to hear from any Kinghorn anywhere who may be able to help close some of the gaps.
I do kow that shortly before his death in 1980 some one telephoned my father to say that they thought they might be related. However Dad never had a chance to follow it up.
Thanks Christian
