Hi, Mary,
Having interest in Kinghorns with Leith connections, I thought I would have a go. IGI lists two daughters for George Kinghorn & Elisabeth Aitchison, christened in Duns & Pencaitland respectively. It also lists Johanna Bigland's marriage to James Kinghorn in South Leith in 1835. I would be inclined to look towards the Borders (and maybe East Lothian) for the Kinghorn family origins. My own line moved in to Leith from East Lothian but I am not aware of any connection. We don't seem to have any Georges at all!
I will let you know if I find out more.
Sheena Ireland (nee Kinghorn)
