I'm researching the Kinghorn line on my family tree and have managed to link into your family tree.

My research has led me to Adam KINGHORN (b. 28 Sep 1785,d. 9 Nov 1862) who married Jane Cocker
Adam had a son ALexander KINGHORN (b. 19 Dec 1814, Newhills) but Alex's death notice(below) states his mother was Margaret Kinghorn, maiden surname Stephen.

Reference 232/1, Year 1879, Parish Peterhead, Entry 113

Alexander Kinghorn, Labourer, married to Margaret Ledingham

5th April 1879, 10:50pm, 7 Windmill Street

Male, 67

Adam Kinghorn, Labourer, deceased

Margaret Kinghorn, maiden surname Stephen, deceased

Obstruction of Bowels, 3 days

Thomas Kinghorn, Son, present

7th April 1879

This tells us that Alexander was born about 1812 and his parents were Adam Kinghorn and Margaret Stephen. I believe this is not quite correct as there was an Alexander Kinghorn baptised in Newhills on the 18th or 19th December 1814 (the day was not clear) to an Adam Kinghorn and Jean Cocker (Ref 226/1). I believe this is probably the right baptism as it matches the date.

Has anyone researching this line come across this? Could have Adam remarried? Do I have the correct Alexander?
