I have checked some of my records and I have found that Janet Kinghorn and William Bell married in Coldingham. It could be that this Janet was born to Robert Kinghorn and Margaret Reay in Burnhouses in Duns in 1855.
Robert and Margaret Kinghorn were still living in Coldingham at the 1891 census.
Janet's grandparents were Robert Kinghorn and Janet Landels. My own Kimghorns who went to South Africa were from another branch of the family, although I have always thought that there must be a connection because the name Adam appears in their family and ours, and this was not that common a name then.
Sorry that I took so long to reply, I had not been back to look at the forum for ages.
