Hi Carol, I don't want to get too excited yet, but I think that I not only know details of this family, but a descendant lives in the same small village as I do and her ancestors are buried in our churchyard. What a stroke of luck! Here goes with my guess. Alexander Kinghorn married Catherine (Kate) Ronald) 8th November 1881 Spital Street ,Stirling He was aged 20 and was a Tailor (journeyman) His father was William kinghorn, a flax presser , mother Janet Young The children that I can find in my indexes are William b 1883 Catherine Bryce b 1884, d 1888 Janet Young b 1886 Helen Jane (Nellie) b 1888 The name Hector was the clue ! William (1883) married Mary Darroch and had a son Hector. He died a few years ago and it is his daughter that lives in the village. She is the reason that I started looking into my mother's Kinghorn family tree. When I discovered that we were both descended from Kinghorns, I thought that I may find a connection. I have not found one yet, but have collected everything that I can find on the name. I hope that this may help your friend . Eileen
