Who here knows any of the details regarding the King Phillip War pre-emptive strike against the Wampanoags' powerful neighbors and probable allies, the Narragansetts, without which the King Phillip War would have been lost?
Is there a list of participants posted anywhere? How many and who were buried in the mass grave at the nearby (Wickford) trading post Smith's Castle at Cocumcossoc? Does anyone know by name, which of the Narragansetts were killed at the battle? Does anyone know anything about the Narragansett queen who was killed with her defenders at the nearby stone Indian fortress after the battle? Who were the English combatants, and what did they gain in landholdings by fighting?
