I have recently read Dean George Story's book written in 1693 and found masses of data concerning the makeup of both William's army and the army of James. The book is entitled "Story's Wars in Ireland" also "An Impartial account of William's Wars in Ireland". Be prepared for reasding Olde English where an "s" looks like an "f" and where double "s" is frequently printred as "fs". Incidentally Dean George Story was Chaplain in William's Army and was in London when the army was being recruited. His brother, Thomas "Quaker" Story was first Recorder of Pennsylvania and personal friend of William Penn. Penn travelled to Ireland with him and met Dean George Story. These Storys were from JusticeTown near Carlisle. Story's book is a fascinating account of the Battle of the Boyne and also later battles "Aughrim" and the Siege of Limerick.
