Hi Margaret,
My primary family is Gilpin, studying them has brought about a pretty good understanding of English history. The family involved with William III and the Battle of the Boyne is my Beatty family though...and although, trying to prove or disprove family rumor on the Gilpins it has really helped with the history for the other family surnames.

My first experience of Strongbow was trying to find out information on the Gillock surname which I have found out is not Irish at all but Scotts and were not part of Strongbow's people..

Best Regards
Nelda
