I am also doing research on Kinlaws. I did find the surnames Kinlaw and McKinlaw in records in Scotland. It makes sense: howevr, that the name was Americanized from Kinloch. If you have any information you can share with me I would appreciate it. I was born in Lumberton, N.C.. My gmother was Beullah Kinlaw Martin, gggrandfather was Dwight Tilden Kinlaw, and ggggradfather was Dwight Byers Kinlaw. Any connection you can make would be appreciated. I believe I have found two Thomas (Mc)Kinlaws in the Bladen Co. and Robeson Co. areas. Can you verify or shed some light on this. Also, what is your source of Thomas as McKinloch?
I look forward to hearing from you. Tilden
