I am from a Kinlaw family from Washington, N.C. My grandfather came from a very large family and his he had 1 brother and several sisters. The brother remained in Washington, N.C., but the some of the sisters settled in Maryland. I was told that his father was from South Carolina. If you research the Kinlaws from Washington, N.C. you will notice that some of the family spell their name "Kinlaw" and "Kenlaw". I assure you that they are from the same family. My mother comes from a family of ten and some of her brothers and sister from the same household spelled the name both ways. I hope this information will help you.
