James Kinloch and wife Catherine arrived in Portland on the 'Flora McDonald' on 18 August 1852. A child, Alexander was born about a year later. He died in 1933. Another child, James, born in 1846 in Bonhill, Dunbartonshire, Scotland, was the one who drowned in Forest Creek about 1856. I know nothing about the medical conditions you refer to.
