In Reply to: Kinloch Family from Kincardine, Scotland by Donald E. Kinloch of 172

Our two adjacent messages in the Kinloch family forum are perhaps not unrelated: my ancestor James Kinloch, who was a banker in London at the start of the 19th C, was the brother of George Kinloch, Laird of Kair in
Kincardineshire, and also a banker in London. This is attested to in the "Memoir and Correspondence of Susan Ferrier, 1782-1854" edited by John A. Doyle (1929). (The writer Susan Ferrier's sister Helen married to James Kinloch in 1800.)
I would be very interested in anything you may know of the Kincardineshire Kinlochs who presumably produced the brothers James (d. 1840 in London) and George.
There is an IGI reference to James Kinloch, b 8 Feb 1776, at Fordoun, father George Kinloch, but not clear whether
this is "my" James K.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Robert Kinloch
