I have been this thread with much interest.
I have a ggggg grandmother named Jean KINLOCH.
She married James BARCLAY,in 1765, the banns were readin Fordoun and Laurencekirk. He was born in Marykirk.

I believe the parentage of Jean b. 1741 Laurencekirk was John KINLOCH ans Katherine BEATTIE.
Sib: James, Margaret, John, William, David, James (again.

I also wondered if there was a realtionship to Kinloch of Kair. James BARCLAY was the second son of Rober tBARCLAY and Mary LYALL propietors of Newton, Marykirk. I have resaon to believe they were descended from the BARCLAYS of Mathers. They rasised their family at Gosely, Marykirk.
