Jill~
I was pleased to see another Reseacher
have the surname Cannan/Kinnan.
have the surname Cannan/Kinnan.
I am looking for connections to
Eleanor Canaan/Kinnan in probably the Sussex Co area of NJ. She was born abt
1745-50(I don't have an exact date) and married John Chamberlain after the Revolutionary War. I know my gggg grandfather was born 1784, and his name was John Chamberlain Jr.
They were m. in Newton, Sussex co, NJ.
I have a note on an early family tree written in 1855 by a ggrandson of John & Eleanor, He writes that Eleanor's father was John. Mother of Eleanor unknown.
Can you help with any connections to John
here? It says they were from NY originally.
or maybe they went to NY later, I really don't understand the notation.
