I am very interested in the genealogy of Daniel and John Kinnard, Indian Traders, and a half-breed Creek Son Jack Kinnard. All mentioned in various historic sources about the Indian Trade and the Creek Nation.Purportedly John was an uncle of the sons of George Galphin with his Creek wife, Metawney. His wife must have been a sister of Metawney who is described as a "Creek Princess" because she came from the prestigious Tyger Clan of the Lower Creeks.John Kinnard was head trader at Hitchetaw Town among the Lower Creeks so he would have been required to have a Creek Wife. His grandson, Jack Kinnard, a mixed blood Creek was noted as a raider and outlaw along the Alabama/Florida border, had a very large plantation with many slaves. He dealt in trade goods and stolen slaves. He fought on the side of the whites in the Creek War of 1812 against Andrew JacksonWhen Jackson defeated the Creeks and signed the Treat of Fort Jackson, he had an exception written into the treat to be sure that "Kinnard's Settlement" not be put into the ceded lands.I assume there are black Kinnard families, as well as tri-racials as in the Galphin families.
