Thanks for looking that up. It underscores my frustration, though, as the data is from the Ancestral File, LDS church member-submitted pedigree charts with no citations given. It probably comes from Wahl. A lot of family historians even use the unsourced AF as a citation and end up quoting each other's GED files and online trees, rapidly propigating errors.

Mercy's husband Joseph is, of course, the grandson of Martha Kenney/Kinne/Kinney and her husband, Joseph Skinner. The family decamped to the Delaware Valley "Cushetunk" area about 1754 where Martha's brother Stephen Kinne/Kinney also owned property. Not far from there in Wayne County, PA is the settlement of Kinneyville.

By the way, Daniel K's name is Daniel Kinney Skinner, more evidence of the closeness of the Skinner / Kinney families. Mercy's grandson, Daniel Kinney Belknap, might have been named for him.

I'm not trying to be unreasonable; I just want to see where this Delap/Delop/Dunlop info originated from besides Wahl. Where did SHE get that surname from? She has my G2GF's name wrong in her data ("French" instead of "Frantz"), so she's not infallible.

Unfortunately, the Nathan Skinner Manuscript (that Wahl had a copy of) doesn't mention anyone named Delap/Delop/Dunlop, but "The Legend of Cushetunk: The Nathan Skinner Manuscript and the Early History of Cochecton" version does mention Timothy and Stephen Kinne/Kinney in the extensive footnotes.

All those surrounding Kinneys and the obit that named Mercy as "Mercy Kinney" is just so Occam's Razor to me! Time will tell....hopefully.
