I appreciate your information, as the date difference of birth for the kids would clear up a big question- how one husband could be married to two women in two different locations.
The Benjamin Kinnear will (made 30 Jan 1855, probated 29 June 1855)lists 3 children in Ohio (Ann Delamer McPherson, William Jesse Kinnear and Francis Kinnear)and 3 children in MO (James Mathew Kinnear, Samuel Huston Kinnear and Paulina J. Kinnear). The book "Kinnear and Kin" had birthdates listed for James Mathew (1831) and Samuel Huston (1833). These conflicted with birthdates for the children in Ohio.
According to the census, what were the ages for Samuel and PJ Kinnear?
The correct birthdates for the MO children would fit in better with a divorce/separation than polygamy.
Is this a family you are related to?
Thanks for the info and the directions to find the research.
