Margaret Kinnear was the wife of Patrick Scott who left Tipperary c1838 when he was 18 and came to Quebec, moving in 1841 to Markham twp near Toronto. He married Margaret c1841 and they adopted a son named William who was born in the US in 1842, then they had James, Stephen, Margaret and Catherine. She is listed as age 66 in the 1881 Chandos twp, Peterborough Co census. In 1871 her brother William was living with she and Patrick in Chandos. Both Margaret and William were Catholic but I have not seen one other Catholic Kinnear listed in any census index in Ontario yet.
There are many Scottish Presbyterian Kinnears in early Ontario.
Was she Presbyterian and then she and her brother changed their faith?

Are there any other Kinnears who arrived in Canada in the 1830's/early 1840's. Are she and William in the 1842 census in the Toronto area?
