Dear Joanne
Got your message tonite. I know almost nothing about my great grandfather. I have his name and his birthdate and that he was from County Queens. He was left to die in Ireland by his brothers (must have been during the famine). He married Mary Bennett from County Waterford (either in County Limerick or in America). He died in Chicago in 1909. He would not talk about Ireland - he had very bitter memories. I figure that the only way I am going to find out exactly where he was from and what family is to spend time at the National Library in Dublin or get lucky with someone responding in reference to the birthdate. Also, my great grandfather's first son was Joseph and the 2nd son was William Joseph. Therefore possibly his father was either William or Joseph. 21 June, 1835 was John's birthdate.

It would be great if we could make some kind of connection.
