The earliest documented American Kincheloe ancestor was Cornelius Kinselloe (also spelled Kinshello, Chenshello, but never in his lifetime "Kincheloe). The family name is clearly Irish. I have published my research on this on <> Click
on Kincheloe Origins. Please read all of the document published there & take note of the extensive documentation at the end of the book. My conclusions regarding the origin of the name Kincheloe came from my study of all of the earliest American Kincheloe documents -- the original deeds, birth & marriage records, wills, etc., and from threads of oral tradition that were recorded. It is clear that the surname originates in the Southeast of Ireland.
