Ginny, scroll down on the Kinslow board to responses by John Kincheloe under Kinslow origins. John has written a lovely little book detailing the origins of our name and its Irish history. Our name was 'anglicized' from Kincheloe (which was anglicized from the Gaelic)to Kinslow by officials-probably census takers-in Kentucky. Listen carefully to how our name is pronounced by the older members of the family and you may hear a soft middle syllable (KIN-sah-low). I would recommend you get a copy of John's book if possible. Alice
