I am a descendant of Patrick Kinslow's daughter Elizabeth, and her husband John Reynolds, married in Chester in 1785. I don't have documented proof, but the unofficial family history states that the Kinslows were Irish, and came to NS by way of New York. The following is a quote from a typewritten document in my possession -- the author is unknown to me.
"Patrick and Sarah (Young) Kinslow came from Ireland to New York where they had a shop. Patrick was drafted and sent with the troops to the seige of Louisbourg, Cape Breton. This was in 1758. While he was away the shop burned, and Sarah went to Halifax in search of her husband. They met on the street of that pioneer town. They then settled at Chester where it is presumed land was granted Patrick for services rendered."
Of course, since you know of no other Kinslow children than Elizabeth i'm thinking you are probably a descendant of hers and John Reynolds, so perhaps you also have a copy of this ancient document. I'd be very interested in hearing whether you have found out any more about the Kinslows since you posted your notice.
