This line as shown includes two classic genealogical errors that have been disproved. John Kenyon did not marry Anna Mumford. He married a Miss Mumford as shown in the RI records, but we do not know if this lady was the mother of any of his children. A John Mumford did marry a lady named Anna and had three children baptized in England. Presumably this is the same John Mumford who shows up shortly thereafter in RI. The second disproved connection is with David whose wife was Mary -- surname unknown. David did not m Mary Sanford. One of the Mayflower Association's silver books lists her name as Mary Gardner, but the references do not document this surname. The compiler is deceased and the Mayflower Association does not know where the Gardner name came from.
Captain Howard N. Kenyon, the author of these two errors, before he died in 1956 acknowledged that these were errors.
