Kippax Family Yorkshire-Lancashire

Hello

I am looking for Information on Edward Kippax. Edward was born in Manchester, Lancashire, England about 1860. It is believed that he is the son of Thomas Kippax.

I have found a Thomas Kippax in the 1851 Census in Lancashire who is the son of Joseph Kippax and Rachel (Willey?). In this same census Joseph and Rachel also have daughters Hannah, Ellen, Elizabeth, Louisa, son George and a grandson Walter. (I found a Christening for a Walter on 21 Sept. 1845 at Holy Trinity, Almondbury, Yorkshire, England, mother Hannah Kippax.)

I have found a Hannah Kippax born 1820(d/o Joseph Kippax & Rachel Willey) who married in 1853 to James Law. In the 1881 Census Edward is living with the family of Harriet/Hannah Law a widow and her children. This tends to make me believe that this is Hannah sister to Thomas who is thought to be Edward Father.

From what I have been able to find (but not prove yet) is the following:

Edward (1860+-Manchester) is the son of Thomas (1830+-Crossland YKS)

Thomas is the son of Joseph (1799+-Almondbury YKS)

Joseph is the son of Samuel(1764+-Almondbury YKS)

Samuel is the son of Joseph (abt 1730??)

Joseph (1730??) married Mary KAYE 22Jul 1762 Almondbury YKS according to the IGI

This appear to be the way the family works but I have no prove at this point.

I would like to find out who Edward Married. In the 1901 census his wife appears as Annis Kippax. I have come across a marriage for an Edward to Annie Richardson in 1881, Edward's son Albert Edward was born in July 1882 in Mossley, Lancashire, so this appears to be a good possibility. Could Annis be a typo for the common Annie or could Annie be a shortform for Annis?

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how I can sort out this family?

Does anyone have access to the 1861 census who would be willing to do a look up for Thomas's family?

I can be reached at either of these email addresses: ckkkippax62@hotmail.com or kip@cablerocket.com

Thanks
Kim Kippax
